Michael Lutter joined the Institute for Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS) at TU Darmstadt in July 2017 as a Ph.D. student. He is working in a joint project with ABB. Prior to this Michael held a researcher position at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for bio-inspired learning for robotics. During this time he worked for the Neurorobotics subproject of the Human Brain Project and designed and taught a Deep Learning for autonomous systems lecture. He received his Bachelors from University of Duisburg Essen in engineering management and his Masters from the TUM in electrical engineering. During his undergraduate studies he spent one semester at the MIT. Michael focused his education on Machine Learning and worked for a joint research project with General Electric developing anomaly detection algorithms. His master thesis was about representing and comparing natural video sequences.
